I think theirs is one of the most amazing friendships I’ve seen in any movie, tv show, book, etc. I see them as two fucked up people who were lucky enough to find a person who’d stick by them despite their flaws. I think it’s truly a beautiful thing, and I’m so baffled when I heard otherwise. Sure, Sherlock fucks with John (Hounds of Baskerville being the big one among fans), but John sticks with him because he’s accepted who Sherlock is and what he does. He knows and trusts that Sherlock cares about him no matter what he says or does. And it’s not like John hasn’t given out his own amount of one-upping Sherlock, so I wish people would stop saying that John just “takes” shit from him and therefore their relationship is unhealthy. They do unconventional things because they themselves are unconventional. They are what the other needs, and they balance each other out in that aspect. I don’t understand what’s bad about that.]
